BEACH BALL LAMPSHADE
40cm Diameter Ball lamp shade (h35cm).
This is a real PVC Beach Ball that has been transformed, by hand, using a process we have pioneered.
The outside has the surface of an actual inflated beach ball, even the 'blowhole' is visible! Yet It has a 'rock hard' inner shell that holds it inflated, and allows us to turn it into a really playful lampshade.
Each piece is hand made to order with a dispatch time of 4 weeks.
WHAT IS IT MADE OF?
The outer skin is made of a real PVC beach ball. We have developed a process to spread a thin polyurethane shell on the inner surface of beach balls. The inner surface has a 'blackout' white spray finish so it is totally opaque. We apply the edge trim, and apply a made to measure lamp shade holder.
IS IT STRONG?
Yes, its pretty tough. It weighs just over a kilo, and the wall thickness is 3-4mm. It feels quite heavy in the hand, and it feels rigid and strong to the touch. However, a sharp corner, or spike would easily crack and break it - so it should be considered FRAGILE!.
WHAT ARE ITS SAFETY CREDENTIALS?
This lamp shade is made with the guidance of the British Lighting Association and adheres to their best practice guidelines.
HOW IS IT PACKAGED?
The Beach Ball Lamp comes boxed in a 18 inch cubed triple walled super strong cardboard box. It has internal cellular foam dampers in the box to guarantee it arrives in one piece.
HOW DO I HANG IT?
This lamp shade is easy to fit, you will not require an electrician, or particular expertise. It is fitted in the same way as any normal paper lamp shade as it fits on any standard pendant lamp fitting.
WHAT TYPE OF BULB DOES IT USE?
You must use a compact fluorescent bulb with this product. This lampshade is rated at 20 Watt max.
